Spring 2020: New Entryways and Construction

Happy New Year and welcome back! As we begin the spring semester this week, students are entering a Kennesaw campus with new signage that proudly announces our prestigious university. The bold new entryways provide an official front door to the university for students, faculty, staff and visitors. Located at the intersections of Chastain Road and Frey Road, and Chastain Road and KSU Road, new campus gateway signage stands next to a new front lawn as an inviting entrance to all.

Coming next month will be a new Kennesaw State logo statue near Kennesaw Hall by the Campus Green, which will be an 8-foot centerpiece in black, gold and gray. I expect this to be a popular spot for student photographs especially during graduation celebrations.

Also in February will be the groundbreaking for a new Academic Learning Center, a student-centered building centrally located on the Kennesaw Campus that will house multiple classrooms and student-focused spaces.

Later this spring, renovations will begin at the College of the Arts to expand the available space for the visual arts program. The updates will meet critical academic needs for the College by providing larger studio spaces.

We also have two exciting construction projects on the Marietta Campus. First, the Science Lab Annex will be completed in March. As part of this valuable expansion, there will be two new biology labs and two additional chemistry labs, along with additional research labs and offices. By late May, renovations will begin on the Engineering Lab Building, which is scheduled for completion by December 2020.

These are just a few of the exciting changes our campuses will undergo during the next few months. Every renovation and new building we create is designed with student success in mind.
