Student Ambassadors at KSU

When I first joined Kennesaw State two years ago, I found a university full of articulate, intelligent and passionate students.

In recognition that our students can best represent KSU, we are expanding student ambassador programs across the University. And, students are stepping up in record numbers for these prestigious ambassador positions.

This fall, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion is joining a growing list of departments at KSU that are working with student ambassadors. The new Diversity Student Ambassadors will help to increase student engagement with the office and transform how all students experience Kennesaw State University. Each of the 12 ambassadors will become an important voice for inclusion on our campuses.

Additionally, within the last year, KSU has added Admissions Brand Ambassadors, who help by welcoming incoming and prospective students. These student ambassadors share their own experiences, answer questions and showcase what it is like to be an Owl. Our Department of Athletics also has brand ambassadors. These students are not just spirit ambassadors for our sports teams, they also are gaining valuable hands-on experience by managing marketing, social media and athletics events.

At the same time, there are long-time student participation programs on campus, such as the Career Planning and Development Ambassadors, who engage with other students to help them prepare for new careers; and the Honors Ambassador group, who help put on special events for the KSU Journey Honors College.

What all of these programs – and many others in departments across both campuses – have in common are students who are passionate about Kennesaw State.

These programs are a cornerstone of what makes this a student-centric university, and I expect them to be an important part of keeping our community connected this fall.
